Steven Greenfield Obituary
April 18, 1950 - February 9, 2024
Bradenton, Florida - Dr. Steven Lewis Greenfield, MD, 73 passed away peacefully on Friday February 9th, 2024 surrounded by his family. Steve is survived by his wife, Shirley, daughter, Annie and son-in-law, Trey, son, Japeth and daughter-in-law, Joanna, sister, Rhoda and husband, Bernie, and his beloved, cherished granddaughter, Stevie who is named after him.
A graduate of Temple University. He was a physician with MCR health for 38 years. His great loves were his family and his walks on Whitney Beach looking for sea turtles.
Steve is proceeded in death by his father, Robert and mother, Libby.
A Celebration of Life will be held March 1st, 2024 (Friday), 5 PM-9 PM, at Groover Funeral Home 1400 36th Ave E, Ellenton, FL 34222

Dr. Greenfield was our entire family's physician for many years when we lived in Palmetto. My husband and I are so sad to read of his passing. He was such a blessing! We didn't have a pediatrician, we had Dr. Feelgood (as he sometimes referred to himself lol) and we are so grateful! I felt like I could tell him anything and he would handle it with humor and affection. I would dare to say he is the best physician I have ever had. I know his family must miss him so very much, but it is a huge loss for the community also. My sincerest condolences to his dear family.

I LOVED Dr. Greenfield. He was my primary physician in Palmetto. He always listened and made me hysterically laugh. He was a Great man! I'm sending prayers to the family.

Doc Greenfield was the very best ever doctor. He was my parents primary care doc decades. Then my husband became his patient. Sharp, always had his patients health best interest at the forefront of his decisions. No other doc will ever meet up to his exceptional qualities as a family physician. RIP

Best doctor
Had a scope to see why in pain.
The doctor who did it told me my appendix.
He called him and the other doctor denied it.
He gave me a prescription and said if your appendix
I'll see you at the hospital.
15 minutes later I was in the hospital getting my appendix out.
He was always on top of things.
I stayed with him until the office changed.
He was absolutely the best doctor.
Sure miss him.

I blessed enough not only to work with Dr. Greenfield, but to also be a patient of his. He was an amazing, funny, care man, and I will really miss him.

So sorry to hear about Dr, Greenfield. He was my ordinary doctor for years before he retired and always made me feel comfortable with the visit using his wit and sharing our love of travel. Keep him in your thoughts daily and he will always be by your side.

I´m so blessed to have called you both my doctor and my uncle. I will never forget you coming to see me in the hospital after having Cayson. You immediately pulled out your stethoscope and listened to both of us. Then when the nurse came in, your badge came out of your pocket so fast and you had her in my records checking everything.
So many other memories of how you took care of me and my family. I love you and miss you Uncle Steve!

Dr. Greenflied took care of my family until the day he retired. To me there will never be another Physician to match his concern and dedication to his patients. Having an appointment was like family visit , with an exam , and much humor.

I´m so very grateful that he was my doctor until he retired . I´m even more grateful that I got the chance to know him. He truly cared about you and never made you feel otherwise. Even when the waiting room was standing room only he´d still take the time to listen to you. Dr. Greenfield was our family doctor from 1984 until he retired. He was always happy, friendly, knowledgeable and considerate. I haven't yet found another doctor like him. My condolences to the family.

DR. Greenfield was my PCP for over 20 years. He practiced care way above and beyond what might be normally expected of a private practice physician. He even phoned patients when a problem arose that he deemed necessary to discuss. If I had a medical problem of immediate concern he would somehow find the time to see me the same or next day. Steven became my friend and we were on first name basis. His medical insight and knowledge was superb, bar none. When he retired I sorely missed him and his care. Condolences to all his family, I grieve with you.
