Veronica de Silva, Obituary

Veronica de Silva, 88, of Bradenton, died, on May 8, 2004, at Blake Medical Center. Born in Trinidad, West Indies, Mrs. de Silva came here from Maryland, 25 years ago. She was a homemaker and a volunteer, at Blake Medical Center, for 15 years. Mrs. de Silva was a member of Saints Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters, Zilma Catanese of Bradenton, Sonia Starner of Wheaton, Md., Loraine Carroll of Kent Island, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday 6 p.m.-8 p.m., Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 a.m., at Saints Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, 2850 75th St. W., with Reverend James Simko, as celebrant. Burial will be at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton, Fla. Arrangements entrusted to Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel.
