Anne Pierotti Obituary

KANE - Anne (Peach) Pierotti died Feb. 15, 2025, at the age of 99. She had a very full and wonderful life.
Anne was born Feb. 6, 1926, in East Kane, the first child of Donald E. and Clara Paup of East Kane.
She and her high school sweetheart, C. Thomas Pierotti, graduated from Kane High School in 1944. They were married on Valentines Day, 1947.
Anne loved music. She played bassoon and oboe and sang in various choirs. She was always ready to dance, especially the polka.
Anne worked as a switchboard operator at Bell Telephone in Kane and Warren. After their wedding, she joined her husband in Cleveland where he was attending Fenn College. By the time Tom graduated from college, they had two children, Thomas Monroe and Rebecca Ann. There is no doubt that they were a couple who were deeply in love and devoted to one another. For the next few years, they lived in Mount Gilead, Ohio, where they made new and lifelong friends. In 1951 they moved to Corry, where their second two children, James William and Jean Marie, were born.
While in Corry, after the youngest children were in school, Anne again worked as a switchboard operator at the local telephone company and then at Corry Jamestown Manufacturing Co. Anne and her family were very active members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was also a devoted volunteer for other community organizations including the YMCA, Scouts and the Parent Teacher Association. Her friends at Beta Sigma Phi sorority were very important to her.
After her husband's retirement, Anne and Tom remodeled what had been their camp, north of Kane, and moved there to be closer to their parents. They then became active members of Tabor Lutheran Church.
Anne began working at Olmsted Manor where her culinary skills were appreciated for many years. She especially loved to bake and she was proud to have won the grand prize in the Pie Baking Contest at the Mount Jewett Swedish Festival with a lemon meringue pie. Her niece, Elizabeth, published "With Sweets in our Mouths," a book of Anne's favorite cookie recipes. She was known for her Swedish rye bread, pies and farina Christmas dessert. Anne enjoyed passing on baking skills to her granddaughters.
Anne and Tom very much enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Their house was seldom without guests.
She never complained and was always ready to help with a smile. Winter was her favorite season. She loved winter scenery, snow and sled riding. At age 90 she went sledding with her great-grandson on her lap.
In 1998, Anne was predeceased by her husband of 51 years. She was also predeceased by her parents and her brother, Donald W. Paup, also of East Kane.
Anne is survived by two sisters-in-law, Martha Paup and Judy Pierotti; and Ann's children, Tom (Lynn), Becky (Bob), Jim (Catie) and Jean (Ron); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will take place 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 20, 2025) at Cummings Funeral Home, Greeves Street. The funeral service will follow at noon at Tabor Lutheran Church, Kane, with the Rev. David Pflieger officiating.
Memorial gifts are encouraged to Tabor Lutheran Church, The Lutheran Home at Kane or the charity of the donor's choice.

Ann was a gracious and delightful lady, and a kind and giving person. I will always remember her for her sweet personality. She and i shared several moments as we talked of her son Tom, being a wonderful mentor to my son Scott as he mentored him in his journey to becoming a Lutheran Pastor.
