Enid Ostrander Obituary
Born Nov. 27, 1931, in Bath, N.Y., she was a daughter of Paul and Mable Benjamin Hess. On Aug. 1, 1953, she married William F. Ostrander, who died March 1, 2009.
Enid was a longtime resident of the area and attended the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany.
Mrs. Ostrander had worked several years for the Market Basket (now Shop & Save), Port Allegany and later with Stan's Clothing Store, and Helen's Fashion Village both of Port Allegany, before her retirement.
Surviving are three sons, Robert E. Ostrander of Blue Ridge Summit, Donald F. (Tricia) Ostrander of Sterling, Va., and David A. (Jessica) Ostrander of Leesburg, Va.; two grandchildren, Nathan W. and Kyle R. Ostrander; five sisters, Edith Michielson and Anne (Andy) Lathrop both of Smethport, Marjorie Windsor and Rita Miller, both of Eldred, Darlene "Duke" (Robert) Lathrop of Wilmington, Del. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William; five brothers, Lewis, Carl "Hunk," Richard, Ted and Pete Hess; and two sisters, June and Norma Hess.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Randy Headley, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
