Glenn Slocum Obituary

WARREN - Glenn Lawrence "Larry" Slocum, 65, of Cobham Park Road, Warren, passed away peacefully on Saturday (July 5, 2014) at his residence.
Glenn was born April 16, 1949 in Warren, the son of Glenn and Geraldine Baker Slocum of Warren.
He was a 1967 graduate of the Warren Area High School, and attended the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps from December 1969 until December 1972. Glenn was the owner and CEO of SDC Associates Incorporated on Cobham Park, and provided business and IT consultation services to local clients for over 25 years. Glenn was very involved with local stock car racing and held many positions at nearly all of the local racetracks. His roles included pit officiating, managing, score keeping, providing the news releases and writing articles for the racing communities. At Stateline Speedway, he designed and produced the race programs, managed the photo booth and developed the computerized database program for their points system.
Glenn was an avid hunter and fisherman that he enjoyed with his friends and family. He also liked camping and other outdoor activities and traveling to his grandchildrens' sports and school activities. He spent a great deal of time with his wife in his restored MG, loved motorcycles and was a founding member of the Allegheny Mountain Area Cycle Riders Club. Glenn enjoyed music, played guitar, and as a teenager was a member of a local band called "The Esquires." While living in Bradford, he was active in the Derrick City Baseball Association as a volunteer, girls softball coach and served terms as the president on the board of directors. Glenn recently had begun restoring another classic car. His active lifestyle lent to many friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Lynda Perschke Slocum; son, Bret L. Slocum (Regan) of Lake Orion, Mich.; daughter, Jennifer McCullough of Warren; son, Glenn A. "Andy" Slocum (Francis) of Warren; a twin sister, Karen Dalrymple (Larry) of Warren; grandchildren Tyler and Paige McCullough, Mason and Madelyn Slocum, Joseph and Matthew Wahoski, and Brayden Slocum; a nephew, Patrick Dalrymple on the Slocum side; and several other nieces and nepews on the Perschke side.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penn Ave., E., Warren, on Tuesday, July 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home Inc., with Rev. Neil Siefert officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Warren County, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365 or The Cancer Care Center At Warren General, 2 Crescent Park West, Warren, PA 16365.
