Joseph McNally

PORT ALLEGANY- Joseph F. McNally, longtime resident of Port Allegany and most recently Erie and Lancaster, N.Y., passed away Tuesday (Dec. 8, 2015) at the age of 91.
Joseph was a 30-year retired veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. He was assigned to an attack transport during World War II and his tour of duty as a radio operator and technician included the European Theater, Asiatic Pacific, and the Philippines.
After retiring from the Navy, Mr. McNally worked as an engineering technician at Corning Glass Works in Bradford for more than 20 years.
He was an usher at St. Gabriel Church and attained his 4th degree through the Knights of Columbus of Coudersport. Throughout his lifetime, he remained a member of the VFW, Navy Fleet Reserve, and American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with family, creating original stained glass pieces, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was the beloved husband of late JoAnn Holmes; loving father of Alan (Kimberly), Carla (William) Klinge, Dana (William) Mang; Poppie to Ashley and Christopher McNally, Chelsea and Nicole Mang, John Klinge, Sarah Menz, and Matthew Klinge. Great-grandfather of Addison, Avery, Olivia, Brendan, and Natalie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church, Port Allegany at 11 a.m. Saturday.
