Margaret Still Obituary

LEWISBURG - Margaret "Maggie" (née Schuchman) Still, 58, of Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday (July 24, 2024) after a brave journey with thyroid cancer.
Deeply loved in both her professional and personal circles, Maggie was known for her joyful personality, sharp intelligence, kindness, patience and compassion.
From the age of four, she knew she wanted to be a doctor. Maggie pursued this vocation first at Fordham University, graduating in 1987, and then at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) where she received her Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) in 1991. It was also at PCOM that she met her husband and best friend, Christopher, with whom she shared more than 30 years of marriage.
"Dr. Maggie" proudly served the Lewisburg community as a Geisinger physician for nearly 30 years, where patients and colleagues alike knew the goodness of her profound compassion and expertise. She was board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the Board of Lifestyle Medicine. She was also a certified yoga instructor.
Kind-hearted, funny and full of life, Maggie brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling, yoga, walking outdoors, kayaking on Lake Nuangola, gardening ... and chocolate.
Although she loved practicing medicine and saw it as a privilege to serve others, her true passion was her children. Despite a full career, Maggie never missed a single sporting event, recital or school activity. She was immensely proud of her children, unconditionally loving the wonderful people they are.
She leaves behind her brokenhearted family: her husband, Dr. Christopher Still; sons, Christopher and Dr. Matthew; daughter, Maddie; and Matthew's fiancée, Dr. Rachel Caulkins; her sisters, Liz (Michael) and Anne (Jim); and her brothers, Joseph (Patty), John (Christine) and Peter (Amy); along with many cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Patricia Schuchman, and a sister, Mary Veronica.
The viewing will be private. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 3, 2024) at Rooke Chapel on the campus of Bucknell University, celebrating her life and legacy. The family will welcome guests from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Geisinger Hospice or The Green Dragon Foundation. Maggie's life was a testament to her deep love for her family, her friends and her community, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.

Dr. Maggie Still has been my doctors for years and that of my son. My heart was broken to hear that she has passed.

I've missed her and often asked where she was. The last time I saw, spoke, and hugged her was at Panera in Lewisburg. She was such a beautiful soul, kind, understanding, and helpful.

I remember years back she blessed my son with gifts as he returned to private school. She was thougtful, encouraging, and sought to do her best to care for me, my son, and no doubt others.

I'm sure I'll cry many more tears over the loss of such a beautiful soul. Those that didn't get to meet her really missed out on such a bright light of kindness and beauty. I miss you Maggie and look forward to seeing you in heaven one day.

To the family I have been praying for you all and I'm so very sorry for your loss. While I know what it's like to lose a mother, family, and friends I don't know exactly how you all are feeling but I am here for you all in prayer and spirit. Take as long as you need to grieve, healing and joy will come but it doesn't mean you have forgotten Maggie. She will always be apart of who you are and your lives. May your memories of Maggie and the God of all comfort give you peace and comfort in every way.

God bless and be with you all.
