Richard Wennerstrom Obituary
Born Sept. 5, 1935, in Port Allegany, he was a son of Arthur Carl and Elin Johnson Wennerstrom. On April 16, 1958, in New Paltz, N.Y., he married Judy A. McKervey, who died Jan. 14, 2013. They were married 54 years.
Richard was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1952.
He was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Port Allegany.
Mr. Wennerstrom was employed as a mechanic with Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany, retiring with over 40 years of service. He also did masonry work for many years before his retirement.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and gardening.
Surviving are a daughter, Julie A. (Tom) Jeffers of Austin; two sons, Michael J. (Vicki) Wennerstrom of Mount Jewett, Scott A. (Karen) Wennerstrom of Port Allegany; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy L. Wennerstrom of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judy; and two brothers, infant Thomas Wennerstrom and Robert Wennerstrom.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Joann Piatko, pastor of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials can be made to the Port Area Ambulance Service or the Port Allegany Senior Center.

Was a great person and friend of mine, he loved the outdoors like I do and his wife Judy was the best mom and person anyone would ever have in a lifetime. God bless them and his Family . miss them.
