Dexter Breault Obituary

PORTLAND, Maine -- Dexter E. Breault, 64, died after a short illness at Maine Medical Center on Nov. 26, 2004, with his family at his side.

He was born in Rumford on July 24, 1940, the son of the late Ernest T. and Rita Breault of Mexico.

He attended St. Theresa's Parochial School in Mexico. He attended high school at the Brothers of Christian Instruction Preparatory School in Alfred. He finished his high school education graduating from Mexico High School Class of 1958. He attended the University of Southern Maine as well as attaining his master's degree from the University of Maine at Orono.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963. He served as a corpsman and attained the rank of HM3. He served not only with the Navy but also was assigned to the 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeuene, N.C. He served aboard a ship that circled Cuba during the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961.

For many years, he taught at Hamilton Wenham High School in Wenham, Mass., as well as at Notre Dame Academy in Tewksbury, Mass. Upon retirement from teaching, he worked for a number of years at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. For the last several years, he made his home in West Brattleboro, Vt., with his sister.

He is survived by his sister, Jean Comptois of West Brattleboro; a sister, Anita Merrill and her husband Erwin of Westbrook; and a brother, Tom Breault of Brunswick. Also, he is survived by cousins, several nephews and nieces as well as great-nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours and funeral were held at THIBAULT FUNERAL HOME on Nov. 30. Interment with military honors followed at Demeritt Cemetery in Peru.
