Katherine Coffey Obituary

BELLOWS FALLS -- Katherine “Kay” Coffey, 79, of Oak Street, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, in Springfield Hospital.

She was born Sept. 16, 1926, the daughter of James and Alice (Costin) Regan.

She attended St. Charles School and graduated with the Class of 1944 from Bellows Falls High School.

Mrs. Coffey worked at the A&P Grocery, the superintendent of school's office, both in Bellows Falls, and as office manager for St. Johnsbury Trucking in Westminster, before she retired in 1989.

She was a member of the Bellows Falls Senior Citizens.

She loved her home and loved being surrounded by her family and grandchildren, especially at Christmas time.

She enjoyed flowers gardening and trips to Maine.

On Aug. 21, 1948 at St. Charles Church in Bellows Falls, she married Francis “Coke” Coffey, who survives.

She is also survived by a son, James Coffey and daughter-in-law, Darlene of Bellows Falls; two daughters, Deborah Aumand and son-in-law Paul Jr. of Bellows Falls, and Mary Worley and son-in-law Ian, of Cornwall; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Mary Shaughnessy.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Charles Church.

Calling hours will be Tuesday at the FENTON & HENNESSEY Funeral Home, in Bellows Falls from 6 to 8 p.m.

Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
