Sarah Jane Jones

1955 - 2025

Sarah Jane was born in Springfield, VT to Louise M. Billings Jones and Clinton J. Jones Sr.

Sarah is survived by one sister, Linda Sprague (Curtis) of West Brattleboro, VT and one brother, Gilbert Jones (Donna) of Vernon, VT. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sarah is also survived by her cherished caregivers Sally and Kirk Crosby whom she has resided with for the last 26 years of her life.

Sarah was predeceased by her parents, two sisters Mavis Swartley and Lois Purrington and three brothers, Clinton Jones Jr., Philip Jones and John Paul Jones.

Sarah was so full of energy and love. There was not a person she met that she didn't befriend. Some of Sarah's favorite pastimes were singing even though her speech was impaired by her handicap. It never deterred her. Dancing! Wow could she dance. She loved Michael Jackson and she could moon walk with the best of them.

Sarah was Down-Syndrome. She was speech impaired, hearing impaired and childish in nature. Her biggest asset was her love for people. She will be greatly missed by all who crossed her path.

R.I.P Sarah Jane Jones. We love and miss you.

Calling hours are Wednesday evening January 7, 2026 from 5pm to 7 pm at Phaneuf Funeral Home, High Street, Brattleboro, Vt.

Burial and a short service will be at the North Cemetery in Vernon, Vt at 11:00 am on January 8, 2026.

After the burial we will meet at the Mountain View SDA Church, 1002 Ft Bridgman Rd, Vernon, VT for a celebration of life. Finger foods and drinks will be served.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Vermont Special Olympics.
