I believe this was the Valerie I knew in El Paso TX in the late 1980's. Very sad to read that she's gone. My condolences. She was a great preceptor to me at William Beaumont Army Medical Center

We were shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the accident on Labor Day that took the life of Valerie and left Brooks terribly injured. We always enjoyed the time spent with them during their visits here in Florida. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families.

My prayers and thoughts are with Valerie's
family and friends. Although my encounters with Valerie at VA in WRJ were brief and infrequent, I was in Awe of her boundless energy, her passion and love for her family, for her fellow nurses and the veteran's she served.
While this tragedy has taken her from her family and friends, her spirit will live on in the memories of all those who had the privilege of even the briefest encounter with her. Rest in peace

Valerie has touched the lives of so many nurses. She gave of herself as readily as she gave of her knowledge. She will be sorely missed.

I started my job as RN at the VA in 2014 and Valerie was a major part of my orientation. Her knowledge and commitment to the problem of lateral violence in the nursing profession impressed me as this subject has been near and dear to my heart since nursing school. We have lost a great advocate for nurses and a beautiful human being. My prayers to her family and friends for peace and comfort.

My condolences to Val's family. I worked with Val years ago when she first came to the VA Hospital in White River Junction to work in the ICU. She was an amazing woman and an excellent nurse. I always loved working with her because of her love of the profession and the care she gave to our Nations Veterans. She was a great co worker as well, always willing to lend a hand, going out of her way to help in any way needed. She spoke of her children often and I loved hearing about them. I feel honored to have known her and was so saddened to hear that she had gone to be with our Lord. Heaven has another Angel for sure. My prayers are with all of Val's family and friends during this painful and difficult time.

Valerie was dear friend and confidant for me and me to her. I met her when we were neighbors and she encouraged me to send my son with her son Andrew to Christian Heritage School - they were buddies. We become extended families through our celebrations and sorrows over the years. I'm at a deep loss with her passing. My hope is to continue to move forward with the commitments and goals we shared to honor her with her love and support she freely gave me, the wisdom like a Mom, the adventures and especially her laughter, along the way until I see her again, MY FRIEND....in celebration of your life~

You will sure be remembered for all the good you placed in this world.
