Irene Chudzik Obituary
Irene Delores Chudzik (nee Zambori), 94, formerly long term resident of Newington CT and Westbrook CT died peacefully on May 29, 2025 at Brooke Grove Rehab and Nursing Center in Sandy Spring MD. Irene (Renee) was born in New Britain CT on June 22, 1930 to Anna Andrews Zambori and Frank Zambori. She married the love of her life Steven P. Chudzik (Chippy) in October 1950. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband Steven, and by her sister Ethel Osiecki and brother Rudolph Zambori. In September 2020 Irene lost her beloved daughter Jane Chudzik Waltman of Greenwood SC. Irene is survived by her sister Alice Marino of New Bern NC; by her two daughters: Carol Chudzik Kastorf (Gary) of Laurel MD, Susan Chudzik Meagher (Donald) of Kensington CT; her four grandchildren: Kerrin Kastorf Nishimura (Gregory) of Alexandria VA, Michael Kastorf (Emily Bane) of Belmont MA, Douglas Meagher (Isabel) of Berlin CT, and Christina Meagher Reynolds (Alvin) of Lynn MA; by her seven great-grandchildren: Grace Nishimura, Emma Nishimura, Annabelle Meagher, Dean Meagher, Caleb Meagher, Ava Reynolds and Christian Reynolds. She was "Auntie Renee" to her numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Irene was a wonderful Mommy, and especially Gramma and Great-Gramma. She loved her family, the beach, gardening, baking and cooking especially for Chippy and her family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring MD. Burial will be in Newington CT at a later date.
