Amy Moir Obituary
Alma (Amy) Anita Prange was born on May 5, 1938, in Sterling, Colorado, the daughter of the Rev. Edward F. and Frieda Prange. She grew up in Plymouth, Nebraska, and graduated from Lincoln General Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska, as a registered nurse in 1959. She specialized in geriatrics and practiced in five states, retiring as a Director of Nursing in 1989. Amy married Lloyd (Lew) Moir, Jr. (Colonel USAF) on September 28, 1959, at Peace Lutheran Church, Jansen, Nebraska. Amy claimed the promise of her baptism on Sunday, February 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Lois Blobaum of Blair, Nebraska. She is survived by her husband Lew; children Lisa Ann Moir, Jay Scot Moir (Margaret); grandchildren Kristina E. Moir, Hannah S. Marx (Travis), Jacob D. Moir; and great grandchildren Landon, Kimber, and Cohen Marx. She is also survived by brother Ramon Prange of Tulsa, Oklahoma and sister Marilyn Moore of Ogallala, Nebraska. Amy traveled with Lew as a military spouse for 25 years, visiting countries on every continent except Antarctica. She and Lew lived in thirteen US states and traveled to all fifty states; they also lived in Japan and England. Her favorite trips were visiting cousins in Switzerland and Chile, river cruises on the Nile and Danube Rivers, a dinner cruise on the Seine River and walking tours of London. Amy was an artist, scrapbook maker, and volunteer in many organizations such as Lutheran Church of Hope, Officers' Wives Club, Broomfield Veterans' Museum, Friends of Broomfield History, and Good Samaritan Medical Center. She served as a Scout leader and while in Japan, she supported Operation Baby Lift following the Viet Nam conflict. She and Lew served organizations such as Broomfield Rotary, Broomfield Community Foundation, Broomfield County Commons Cemetery and Broomfield Days Planning and Organizing committees for decades. Amy was a great friend to the many people she met during her life, and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A visitation for Amy will be on Sunday, February 27, from 4-6 p.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope in Broomfield. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 28, at 10:30am at Lutheran Church of Hope, with immediate burial at Broomfield County Commons Cemetery. Her service will be live-streamed and archived for further viewing at www.lchope.org/watch.
