Caroline Mae (Ensign) Lilly born on the farm to Charles and Gladys (Haase) Ensign June 26, 1927; passed from this life Jan. 23, 2025. She met Carl Lilly on the school bus, both graduating from Farmer High School in 1945. Married Thanksgiving Day 1948. As a farmer's wife and mother of seven, her days and nights could involve just about anything which she endured with finesse.
Caroline stayed busy and felt community involvement important such as Fairview School Board, Fairview Music Boosters including countless banquets and school carnivals, County Cousins, Chickasaw Farm Bureau Council, 4-H advisor, Farmer Cemetery Social, Auglaize Village volunteer and the Mark Center Quilters. Caroline sewed everything and then became quite an accomplished quilter when she finally took time and sat down. Most people knew the Lilly's if they needed historical information, were searching for an unusual item or needed help with any art project.
She leaves behind the following lineage, daughter, Cynthia Kiacz (Joseph, dec'd) mother of Elizabeth, Emily and Sarah, mother of Hunter, Skyler, Holden and Destiny who is mother of Lillian, Madilynn and Brooklyn; daughter, Cathleen (Paul) Browning; daughter, Celeste (Thomas) Rossman, mother of Lantz (Crystal) and Lorne (Cathleen); daughter, Cara Lilly; son, Clay (Tracy) Lilly, father of Cory, Kyle, Dustin (Karen) their children Caylee and Grayson, Cody (Wynne) childen included Emma, Grace, Preston, Agustus and Callan. Surviving daughters of Christine, Tiffany, mother of Tatum and Harrison and Emily (Micheal) Meyer, mother of Maeci and Morgan, Caroline's sister, Patricia (Don) Purvis. Brother in-law Hanson Lilly, plus countless nieces and nephews she took interest in.
Deceased loved ones include husband, Carl, 2017; daughter, Christine, 2014; son, Chester Carl, 1993; and sister, Charotte, 2007. Graveside service will be Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Farmer Cemetery at 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend and share stories.
