Charlie was a person in our community. I enjoyed the times he interviewed me for different events like the popcorn festival art show. I hope some commemorative of his deeds will be added to the Evers Arena. My condolences to all of his family

I am so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing; although I am sure his Homecoming was a blessed event. It was a joy for me to work with Charlie on WGH Radio. My late husband, Paul Savage, was in awe of Charlie and counted him a friend. My prayers are with you. He was a dear man.

In over 30 years in radio, I never worked with a gem like Charlie. He was one of those few individuals who was the same person away from the mike as he was on it. Refreshingly real

I grew up listening to Charlie Evers every morning before going to school. I was so humbled when I got to actually meet him in person 8 yrs ago. I was the preschool assistant where his granddaughter attended. I told him it was an honor to meet him. He told me it was an honor to meet me. He is going to be missed. Thoughts and prayers for all of the family.

I can't put into words what Charlie meant to me and my family. My grandfather listened to him everyday and even followed him to WDIF. Hearing his voice meant so many things but mostly it meant home. I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. Your loss is not yours to handle alone. The whole county mourns with you. God Bless
