JoAnne Sears

BUCYRUS - JoAnne Sears, 82 of Bucyrus passed away on Thursday December10, 2020 at home to join her late husband John Sears Jr. JoAnne was born September 23, 1938 in Bucyrus to the late Clarence Zinke and Josephine (Seckel) Monbeck. She was first married to Ted Marquis and later married the love of her life John Sears Jr. in 1974.

JoAnne is survived by daughter Cathy Dible of Bucyrus, Kathy (Les) Dyer of Bucyrus, Mary Ward of Mt. Gilead; son John (Sandy) Sears III of Eaton, PA; grandchildren Ken (Nikki) Dyer, A.J. Ward, Trevor (Erin) Ward, Jesse Ward, Richie Dible, Jonathon Dible, Shawna Holman, Jason Cross; and many great grandchildren; nieces Jodi Matz and Lori (Chris) Kidd; special niece Nikki Dowler; brother Bob (Janet) Zinke; daughter-in-law Brenda Marquis; as well as many special friends including Cheryl Barnett. In addition to her husband, JoAnne was preceded in death by son Ted Marquis, grandson Jeffrey Dyer, sons-in-law Pat Ward and Dave Dible, and special friend Nancy Scheerer.

JoAnne graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1956 and worked many years at the State Highway Patrol. Anyone who knew JoAnne knew she was a social butterfly. So many people were drawn to her and her caring and loving personality.

Some of the joys of JoAnne's life were playing cards with her "card club", her many trips to Las Vegas with John, spoiling all children in her life including the neighborhood children (especially Shay, Jessica, and Vosh), and spending time with her dog "Mercedes".

The family will be holding private graveside services in Oakwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later time. Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

I called Joanne my aunt, although she was a second cousin. The obituary is correct...she spoiled me. ❤❤❤❤❤ Rest in peace, Aunt Joanne.
