Paul McClain Obituary
Paul H. McClain, age 78 of Galion, an Upper Sandusky native, died at HarborChase Assisted Living, Plano, TX on Dec. 27, 2020. He was born in Bucyrus on Feb. 27, 1942 to the late Floyd and Gladys (Guthrie) McClain. He married Marcia S. Myers from Upper Sandusky on Feb. 1, 1964, who preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2001. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Marilla Perez. Surviving are his sons Steven (Kimberly) McClain, The Colony, TX and Michael (Bency) McClain, Oakton, VA; grandchildren Kevin, Bethany and Grace; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Edwin Emerson, Dublin, OH.
Mr. McClain graduated from Upper Sandusky High School with the Class of 1960, and received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio University. He worked as a mechanical and plant engineer with companies in Pennsylvania and Ohio before retiring from Carlisle Engineered Products, Crestline.
He was a life-long avid golfer, hunter, and custom gunsmith, and also enjoyed building and flying remote controlled airplanes. Mr. McClain was a member of the Eagle Squadron RC Club of Galion, and of the former Galion Country Club.
Due to Covid-19, private family services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, with Rev. Ken Wessler officiating. The service will be live streamed on Bringman Clark Facebook page. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
