Of Amherst, NY. Husband of Beverly Gilden. Father of Susan Gilden (Jody Nusholtz) Marcia (John) Schveibinz, Lisa Gilden (Alisa Ostrow) and Traci (the late Adam) Blake. Grandfather of Carly (Dan) Ciraolo and Luke Schveibinz, Benjamin and Samuel Gilden-Weiner, Mackenzie and Mason Blake. Great- grandfather of Emmett and Ila. Brother of the late Beni & late Dr. S. Edmund Berger and the late Sasha Strassberg. Also survived by nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at THE AMHERST MEMORIAL CHAPEL LLC., 281 Dodge Rd. on Sunday at 2 PM. Period of mourning will be held at at the family residence on Sunday from 4-7 pm with an evening service at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Congregation Shir Shalom or a charity of your choice. Dr. Gilden was my wonderful dentist for many years. We first met when I stayed at a family member's home while in Buffalo with my Temple youth group from Rochester. Don was still in college.
Do very sorry to learn of this passing, and send love and sincere condolences to Bev and their whole family.

Don was very special . I enjoyed many years of tennis with him and Gary Schuller. Lots of fun. He had a great heart and we also enjoyed talking dentistry when he referred patients. Thanks Don for these special memories..

Just want to share our condolences to everyone in the family. Sorry that we cannot be there with you this week.
I will share one memory that I hope will make you smile. I recall going to see Don for a dental checkup when I was a teenager. I think I asked him why he became a dentist, and he responded, without hesitation, that it was because he did not like children. Of course, I knew he was joking, and a big smile broke out on both our faces. He will be missed.

He was my dentist years ago and installed a " Maryland bridge" which is still fine and causes open mouth reaction to my dentists today when they see it, some young ones have ever seen one; he was a nice man and great dentist
