Caryn Reardon Obituary
Aug. 14, 1974 – Aug. 4, 2014
Caryn J. Reardon, a Depew elementary school teacher, died Monday after a long battle with cancer. She was 39.
Mrs. Reardon, of Lancaster, was born in Buffalo. She graduated from Depew High Schoo, and earned a bachelor's degree from Brockport State College and a master's in elementary education from Buffalo State College.
She worked as a teacher at Cayuga Heights Elementary School in Depew, starting in 1998.
Mrs. Reardon received the Educator of the Year Award in 2011 from the Depew Teachers Organization, the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2012 from Buffalo Niagara Chapter 0047 of Phi Delta Kappa and an award from the Western New York Educational Service Council in recognition of exemplary contributions to students in 2013.
She organized a Ride for Roswell team known as "Get Busy Living," and, with her husband, Daniel, raised more than $81,000 for the cancer center over the last five years.
She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her parents, Beverly and Paul Brown, and two sisters, Michele Weber and Colleen Scott.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Philip the Apostle Church, 950 Losson Road, Cheektowaga.

My son loved Mrs.(Brown) Reardon. He had her just 3 short years ago and even though she was fighting her own battle, she always had a smile and kind words for her kids. Rest in peace and thank you for your light shone upon our kids! Condolences to her family.

Caryn Brown taught Kindergarten to both our girls. We always knew they were in good hands. She was the friedliest person and always went out of her way to say Hello and talk to the girls even years later. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed. Our lives are better for knowing her.

Caryn was loved by all of her students. She inspired the children to do their best. She made learning fun. She always had a beautiful smile. She was the best teacher to the children at Cayuga Heights. Although she will be missed by her family, friends and the entire community, heaven received a beautiful angel.

Our oldest son was lucky to be in Miss Brown's kindergarten class her first year teaching at Cayuga Heights. Our family fell in love with her bright smile, enthusiasm for teaching, and love for children. She was a beautiful person. Our hearts go out to her family at this time.
