Charles GABLE Obituary

GABLE - Charles Michael
Webster, NY: After a nearly two-year battle with cancer, Charles Michael Gable passed away on July 24, 2023, while in hospice care at The Serenity House in Victor, New York. Charles was born in Buffalo, New York on November 1, 1942, to Charles and Victoria Gable. He attended Bishop Timon High School and graduated with a degree in political science from Canisius College. He married Carlyn Louise Johnson on August 28, 1965, and they moved to Webster, New York in 1969, where he lived for the rest of his life. Charles worked in Human Resources at Xerox Corporation for his entire 30+ year career and stayed active during his retirement as a certified ombudsman for Lifespan. Charles valued keeping himself busy, staying organized and arriving early to everything. People who crossed paths with Charles often commented on his kindness and how much they valued getting to know him as a person. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf, spending time with treasured friends and cheering for the Buffalo Bills. Charles leaves behind his wife Carlyn Gable; daughters, Jennifer Friend (John Friend) and Anne Gable (Jeff Lee); grandchildren Charles Friend, Victoria Friend, Owen Friend, Eliza Friend, Colin Lee, and Erin Lee; sister, Margaret Fernan; nephew, David Fernan; and nieces, Barbara Monaco and Amy Conmy. Charles' wishes were to be cremated with a private remembrance service. Donations may be sent to The Serenity House in Victor, New York. Willard H. Scott Funeral Home
