Daniel GAILEY Obituary

GAILEY - Daniel
69, of Buffalo, NY, passed away in his home on October 19, 2022. Dan was born on November 17, 1952, in Central New York State. When he was young he attended Bishop Foery Camp, where he later became a counselor. He graduated from Paul V. Moore High School in 1971. Dan worked at General Motors for 30 years in both Syracuse and Buffalo. Additionally, he had a passion for tattooing, and worked as a tattoo artist following an apprenticeship at "Dresser" Dick Radcliff Tattoo Studios. His tattoo work was featured in Tattoo Magazine. In 2002, after retiring from GM, Dan became an unmistakable neighborhood fixture beloved by all of his Allentown neighbors. Most days you could find "Tattoo" or "Cowboy" Dan, as he was called, at the local coffee shop sipping coffee and handing out treats to the neighborhood dogs. Over time he became good friends with another Allentown fixture, Chuck "The Bubbleman" Incorvaia. They were interviewed together by StoryCorps; their interview is housed in the Library of Congress. Dan spent his later years traveling and supporting local and national recording artists. He has been credited as a producer on five albums including, but not limited to, recordings of Kinky Freidman and The Observers.
Daniel was predeceased by his father-Alexander Gailey, mother-Diane (nee) Foster and sister Christina. A celebration of Dan's life will be held at a later date.
