As a member of the Canisius High School community, we will miss a well respected classmate. I have fond memories of Dan, a kind and caring person. As the road rose up to take him, may we find comfort in the good memories of his life. He may have left us early, but to know Dan, is to know his quick wit and smile. That's how I will remember him. Dear McCarthy Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of my CHS classmate’s passing. On hearing the news I immediately thought of Dan’s constant smile and was reminded of it by his picture here. Though it has been too many years since I saw Dan, I’ve always thought of him as that kind and caring friend who would always be there for you, even helping me cover for the dent that magically appeared on my dad’s car the night of senior prom … when his car load of classmates and dates bumped my car load of classmates and dates at the Delaware traffic circle. Please know that all of you in Dan’s family will be in our thoughts and prayers, and know that the memories of this warm and loving man will soon outweigh the pain in your hearts today. I am very saddened to hear of Dan's passing. He was a great guy and always a very friendly and helpful co-worker during the times we worked together at Noth American Health Plans in Amherst, NY.
When I first started at NAHP 8 years ago, Dan went out of his way to introduce me to others, and always offered his help in any way possible. I am sure he will be missed by all who met him.

There are no words to convey for the tragic loss of Dan. When I heard he passed away, a part of me went with him. Even though we have not stayed in contact as we have years ago, Dan has always been a good friend that I will never forget. I have many fond memories of growing up with him and that is what I am always going to remember him by.
