David Eastman Obituary
April 30, 1939 - February 27, 2024
Of Naples FL and Hamburg, NY, formerly of Angola, NY entered into rest after a brief illness in Florida with his loving family by his side on February 27, 2024 at age 84. Loving husband of 42 years to Veronika (Keilbach) Eastman; father of David (Barbara) Eastman, Kelli (Scott) Billings, Todd (Paula) Eastman, Heidi (John) Herc, Christie (Arthur) Byers and Kelly (Aron) Wild ; son of the late Willard Eastman and Dorothy Eastman Fischer; brother of Ronald (Sally) Eastman, Cheryl Eastman, Dawn Bush, and the late Anne Arcara. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Eastman worked for the Occidental Corporation (Hooker Chemical) for 25 years, rising to the position of director of Technology. In 1981 he was named the company's "Inventor of the Year". He holds four chemical patents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He later joined Lonza, Inc. as director of research and Development. As its Vice President of Technology, he oversaw a 3 year project to rebuild a factory in California that had been destroyed by fire. Private services will be held. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Dave was my supervisor at Lonza for over 10 years. He was a true professional and a great supervisor having a positive impact on my professional development. Dave made Lonza an enjoyable and great place to work. He will not be forgotten and will always remain in my prayers. Thanks for sharing the ride. RIP.
