Beloved husband of Lucinda "Cindy" (nee Zacharyasz) Schaefer; loving father of Jill Marie Schaefer; cherished Pappy of Griffin, Cianan and Larkin Gardner; dear brother of the late James Schaefer, Rose Marie (late James) Leary and Daniel Schaefer; devoted uncle of many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 3-7 PM at the CUSACK FUNERAL HOME, 873 Abbott Rd., South Buffalo, NY, 828-1846, (same location as Castiglia Funeral Home, Inc.), where the services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 9:45 AM and from Our Lady of Victory Basilica, 767 Ridge Rd., Lackawanna, NY, at 10:30 AM. David was a retiree of 27 years at Verizon and also from Lancaster High School as a Job Coach for Special Education students. He was a member of the Father Baker Knights of Columbus Council #2243. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Roswell Hospital Foundation.
