Dear Patti and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. He was a great man and I remember many wonderful times at your home in our SHA days. I am sorry that we were not there to share our sympathies in person but, we were out of town. Know that your whole family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Metzger Family,
From the stories told by his son, Michael, over the past years and what is written here in honor of Mr. Metzger's memory, one did not need to know this man personally to understand how much he was admired and loved by his friends and family.

I will always remember Ed as a neighbor of many talents, be it home repair projects, or golf, or auto mechanics. He alwayts had a friendly word for those passing by. His memory will be treasured.

Ed was a special gift - by the grace of God we were provided an opportunity to have met someone that made a great impact in our lives. Ed was my nextdoor neighbor, but more importantly, a close dear friend always willing to share with me his life's experiences; from his days as a fighter pilot, to his golfing exploits, to his cherished moments with his wonderful kids, to his life long love affair with his love of his life Joanie. Ed will always remain dear to me and my family. He was the father figure in my life that I hadn't had for so many years. I will always love him as if he were my own dad. We were all blessed to have known Ed and his memories will always be a shining light in our lives. At night, when the sky is clear look up to the stars and no doubt the brightest one shining is Ed and his smile letting us know everything is ok and he has finally figured out how hit the ball twenty yards further!

I was a friend of Jean Ann and Ed Metzger all my life since grammar school. Although I haven't seen them in many years I still loved them both and have many fond memories.

Dear Metzger Family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy. Many years ago Ed remodeled my home and I so enjoyed getting to know him during that time and also through Jim Scherer's family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mr. Ed, Eddie Boy, Mr. Metzger, the Mayor of Maynard Dr. - these are all the loving salutations and names we were used to using with Ed. A wonderful neighbor, advisor, friend and extended family member to me and my family. I will certainly miss this grand gentleman whom I loved dearly. I do know that I am a much richer person for having been blessed with his presence and will cherish those memories moving forward.
Much love and prayers go out to Joanie and family members.

Ed always had a smile - was always ready to help a friend - a dear, sweet man - and a loving husband (no matter how many jokes he made about Joanie, the love and respect were always apparent). I will miss his smiling face around the clubhouse and especially remember him on our shared birthday. My deepest condolences to the whole family - you can be proud.
