Rupp, Edward W., Jr., PhD

Passed away peacefully at the age of 99. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Daniels) Rupp. Loving father of Michael (Martha), Steven, Teresa, Thomas (Elaine), Don (Kelly), Robert (Lori) and Judy (Joseph) Rusnak. Dear grandfather of Andy (Ratima) Rupp, Theresa (Anthony) Ronco, Joshua Bogdan, Sarah (Richard Rambuss) Rusnak, Kathleen (Alex) Keller, Caroline (Morgan) Miller, Rebecca Rusnak and Julia Rupp. Loving great-grandfather of Mira, Gabriel and Luca. Dear brother of the late Janet (Francis) Fox, Richard (Louise) Rupp and Dorothy (Thomas) Beaton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ed served in the US Navy during WW II. Following his retirement as Vice President of Research and Engineering at Bell Aerospace Textron, Ed volunteered with Jewish Family Service teaching English to refugees from Russia. As a graduate of Purdue University, Ed was an avid fan of Purdue's sports teams. Ed and Dot enjoyed playing duplicate bridge and both achieved the rank of Silver Life Master in the American Bridge League. In 2015, Dr. Rupp was inducted into the Niagara Frontier Aviation and Space Hall of Fame. Ed was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Tonawanda for the past 68 years. All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church (1085 Englewood Ave.) on Saturday, July 12th at 11:00 AM. Please assemble at Church. Donations in Ed's honor may be made to the Niagara Aerospace Museum, 9990 Porter Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Share condolences at www.mertzfh.com
