To the Sullivan family: I am truly saddened to hear of your loss. As a former Buffalo firefighter working on the upper West Side, I had the opportunity to meet and work with Ed on occasion. I simply cannot remember meeting a nicer person than he. Kindness and strength are qualities that are seldom possessed simultaneously by an individual, but Eddie had them both. Please accept my sincere condolences.

To the Sullivan Family,I'm saddened to hear of the passing of your dad. My memories of him will be from my ambulance days in the early 80's seeing him in his BFD uniform on EMS calls. I remember speaking with him when he returned to school for Respiratory Therapy, I believe after he retired. He was a role model for everyone who knew him. I will keep him and all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Joe Gonter

From memories of the days swimming at the Reese St. pool to Ed and Joan dancing with us at Merlin's on New Year's Eve, how great life was!
Ed was always understanding even when you messed up. At the same time, holding you accountable. What a role model! Here's to you Ed - Gone but never forgotten.
