Age 92. Beloved husband of Camille (nee Graf) Afshani; devoted father of Victoria (James) Skurski, Arman (Marie) Afshani, Deborah (Thomas) Peck, Sharlene Hammond, Nousheen (Joseph) Wezorek and Rosalyn Cusick; loving grandfather of Francisco Adonay Hammond, Dillon (Lauryn Stewart) Hammond, Karina (Kiva) Denson, Gabrielle Hammond, Ariana Afshani, Ethan Afshani, Madeline Peck, Josephine Peck, Nathan Peck, Bryson Cusick and London Camille Cusick; dear brother of Ziaollah (Donna) Afshani, Mehri (Donald) Jefferson, Soheil (Khojdy) Afshani and the late Cyrus Afshani and Rouhi Pezeshgzad; brother-in-law of Anne Flansburg; also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-7 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (at Hopkins Rd), where services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday. Interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Williamsville, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, 1028 Main St., #4, Buffalo, NY 14202. Many fond memories of Dr. Afshani. I didn't know him as a physician -- rather, he was a neighbor and close family friend. I can still picture him doing some of his favorite things: playing backgammon, working on his garden, grilling and cooking Persian food. He was seemingly always in a jovial mood and I can still hear his laugh in my mind. So glad he bought that Springville cottage, as Arman and I (along with others) had many memorable visits. Rest in Peace, Dr. Afshani.

What a great Radiologist and enjoy all the years working together at Children's Hospital. I will remember all the laughs we had in the ultrasound department with your special sonographers. RIP Doctor Afshani. You will be missed.
