To all friends and family -
Thoughts and prayers for your loss. I connected with Elizabeth as she had purchased my grandparents home when they moved out years ago and I got to visit with her, see the house and connect around Labor Day 2019. It was a wonderfully special moment and showed her empathy and whom she was. I was visiting this weekend, went by the house and her brilliant flora wasn´t there. My family here in Buffalo that lived down the street until recently told me about her passing as I visited the area this weekend.
Again, thoughts and prayers and so sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the Giles Family. Hearing of Betsy's passing breaks my heart, not only for her family, but our friendship, as well as the huge loss to the community given her passions and interests.
Betsy was a loving and doting Mother, always one to give the best she had, and to give great life experiences to her children. After her love and devotion to Julia, Maria, and her family, she was a strong advocate for better and equitable public transit, extending Buffalo's Metro Rail, saving Buffalo's Central Terminal, and all things Eastside. Betsy was a powerhouse in our community. She never did things half way, nor would she let an opportunity go by to advocate on behalf of the community. Powerful people in the State and City knew her by name and reputation for advocacy - many benefiting from Betsy's knowledge and experience of a topic, so they could make better decisions for all of us. All, I would say, were better informed because of her.
We spent hours strategizing and coordinating efforts, and coordination responses on social media to bolster each others comments. I will miss our discussions on these topics, on family, on life, as well as Betsy's passion for Polish heritage. I will miss Betsy helping me better form my thoughts and adding the "punch" it needed to be more effective in our collective work.
My sincere condolences to Julia and Maria, and the Giles family. Be at peace my friend. Be easy on St. Peter and company. I will miss you dearly.
Lovingly, Carl
