Ernest LAUFFER Obituary
Age 80, of Wheatfield, passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2022. Ernest served in the United States Air Force from 1960-1968. He then went on to work as a Unites States Customs Agent, totaling over four decades of federal service. He was a Freemason at the Sutherland Lodge, in North Tonawanda. Ernest had a love for words and would offer his "word of the day" to his friends and grandchildren. He also was a man who knew something about everything and knew even the most obscure trivia. He collected fountain pens and enjoyed calligraphy. His signature was perfection. Ernest was a huge Yankees fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Karolyn M. Lauffer; devoted father to Jen (Kephart), Kenneth (Alysia) Lauffer, Jill Szabo, Jody (Mark) Musolino, and Glen Lauffer. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Holly and Blair Kephart, Kenneth Jr. and Conner Lauffer, Brandon Szabo, Camden and Anelia Lauffer. He is predeceased by his brother, Erwin Lauffer; and is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Hiller. Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
