F. Murphy Obituary

MURPHY-F. James "Jim" Of Batavia, age 77 died Thursday, September 27, 2007. He was the Genesee Memorial Hospital Administrator in Batavia, NY from 1962-1990. He received a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration from Columbia University. He was a recognized leader in the community and among health care executives in NYS. He served as Chairman of the HANYS and Director and Board President of WNY Hospital Association. Jim is predeceased by his first wife of forty-two years, BarLee Murphy and three brothers. He is survived by his wife Averyl Murphy; four children, Tim Murphy of Manasquan, NY, Mark (Tina) Murphy of East Aurora, NY, Ketha (Jon) Heron of Penfield, NY and Kelley (Jeff) Johnston of Floyds Knobs, IN; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. There will be celebration of his life in a Memorial Service held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, NY 14021, Genesee Region Home Care & Hospice, 550 E. Main St., Batavia, NY 14020 or the Batavia First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road, Batavia, NY 14020. Condolences at www.bataviafuneralhomes.com. Arrangements by H.E. TURNER & CO.
