Fazlollah LOGHMANEE Obituary

LOGHMANEE - Fazlollah, M.D.
Dr. Fazlollah Loghmanee ascended to the kingdom above early in the morning surrounded by his loving family on February 9th, 2022. He was 82 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Shoorangiz Samandari Loghmanee; their three children, Donna Feldman and her husband Matthew, Darius Loghmanee and his wife Chelsea, Cyrus Loghmanee and his wife Jessica; and nine grandchildren. Dr. Loghmanee was born in Tehran, Iran and immigrated to the United States of America in 1970 where he stayed for the remainder of his life. His Baha'i Faith inspired him to seize every opportunity to serve those with whom he came into contact. Most notably he worked for justice as a forensic pathologist, shaped the future of medicine through the education of thousands of medical students, residents and fellows, and provided a unique and radiant example of what it means to truly love humanity. To those who were blessed to meet him, he was a constant source of support and encouragement, and he never missed an opportunity to welcome more people into an astoundingly wide and diverse circle of intimate friends from all walks of life and backgrounds. The hospitality he and his wife showed their guests was legendary. One such guest was moved to recount the experience to friends while out to dinner at a restaurant in Chicago. Halfway through the story a person from another table interrupted, asking "I'm sorry, are you talking about a dinner with the Loghmanee family? I was just there last week!" Among Dr. Loghmanee's favorite conversation topics were Persian poetry, how to increase both love and justice in the world, marriage and children, and the importance of pursuing education. The joy he felt when he found someone willing to explore these ideas with him was clearly manifest in the excitement and contentment that beamed from his smiling face. We were grateful to have known him. He will be sorely missed. Online condolences at

I shared tennis courts (and occasional post-exercise dinners and discussions) with Faz for over 25 years. During those times, I learned what a fine person he was -- honest, supportive and concerned for others. His passing is a great loss for family, friends and people whom he helped.

Fazol, was a great family member and an amazing human. I learned a lot from him for the 9 years of my life when I moved and lived in Buffalo. I remember he picked me up at Buffalo airport as I arrived to US when I was 17 years old. Fazol and Shori had onlyDonna at the time (1974). This news is very hard on me as I know it is very hard on Shori, Donna, Dariush and Cyrus. Our condolences and our heart goes to family and hope we can stay in touch. Please call me, if I could be of any assistance to you and god bless his soul.

Our deepest condolences to Shoori Joon,Donna, Darius and Cyrus Aziz. He is the main reason, I made it in to USA. After my Dad, he is most influential person in my life and many that I know of. God bless him. I know there is a tennis court just for him in the heaven , where he is now. He came to visit me in Newport Beach few years ago, he was always a joy, full of positive energy and thoughts. I know , we all will be with him, but not just yet.. we have to do a lot of good to get reservation to play in that tennis court. I miss him.
