I was a student at HCS when Mr. Black was there - he was an amazing man, everyone held him in the highest regard. We actually had a 'protest' when we learned he was leaving us. I am very saddened by his passing and send my deepest condolences to his family.

I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Dr. Black's passing. I had the privilege of being a student at HCS when Mr. Black was there...he was an amazing man, always able to address whatever the issue was with fairness and professionalism. I rememeber we staged a "sit-in" when we learned he was leaving HCS... that speaks volumes for the love we had for this man! My very deepest sympathies.

I was surprised and very saddened to learn of Dr. Black's passing. Although my contact with him was limited, I could not have been more impressed with such an amazing man. As the father of my outstanding students he was a proud, caring, and loving parent, and professionally I learned so much from his presentations and our follow up discussions.

I thought I already posted but don't see it so here I go again. We miss you so much Wizard! This house is just not the same without you. K3 wants to know if Ce is now in charge of getting her "10" donuts LOL. And Keirstyn you helped so much I will be forever grateful. You believed in her when no one else did and you helped her believe in herself and she is doing so well as a result. I am looking at all the pics and they all show just what I know and believe: you gave and gave to so many people. I truly love you as a real father. And I will forever be so grateful for all you did for my children and myself, most selfishly that you raised such an honorable and loving man who is my soulmate! RIP.

The most amazing man I have ever known. A true example of a man, a husband, a father, a grandfather. Gave so much to all of us and embraced my children as his own grandchildren - always having special treats waiting for us when we arrived in Buffalo. And he instilled confidence into my children where education and life is concerned for which I and they will be forever grateful. Luv u wizard!!! Will make sure to go to Wegmans for u:) and thank u for bringing my soulmate into this world and raising him (along with Ce) to be such an honorable and loving man.

A great, great man! A man who started as my principal but then became my boss, my mentor (more like my father). He was always there for me and gave me such great advice. This man's presence in my life has made me a better person. I have learned so much from him. As I sit here typing this I can just kick myself for not staying in touch with him as much as I could have. I guess I always took for granted that he would just be there - forever. He was such a strong, active man. This is hard for me to believe that he is gone. My deepest sympathies to the family. Heaven is now a better place as we have him to look over us all. God Bless!

So sorry to hear of Mr. Black's passing, he worked at Holland High school in the sixties. Ron was a gym teacher, disciplinarian, and counselor. Always reminded me of a US Marine, physically fit and tough as nails. I had the opportunity to engage him in both disciplines, and one was much more fun than the other; but he was always fair and you knew after meeting with him where the line was drawn.
