Gail,
It was my fortune to know Howard during the time I was employed at Buffalo State. He was a class guy and I always enjoyed our
relationship through the Athletics Department at State. It was how I learned that my first principal, Ruth Williams, was your aunt.

I was a freshman at Buff State in 1964. Passing swimming was a requirement for graduation. I was then, and am now, a poor swimmer. Mr. Myers told me "I will get you to pass." He told me that I only had swim the length of the pool once. He said that I could hug the side and if I started to drown, he would jump in and rescue me. He worked with me one on one many days. I did finally pass, swimming the length of the pool towards the end of the semester. When my son went to Buff State in the 90s, swimming was no longer mandatory.

Gail and Family, Howard was one of my coaches at State and a great friend.I will always remember a visit to your home a few years ago with my fellow basketball players. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
