James Ackerman Obituary
Jim, as he was known, was a plumbing contractor in the Buffalo area from 1956 to 1997 and in SWFL from 1997 to 2018 assisting his son Eric in his plumbing firm. He and Joan were a long time boaters, making many faithful friends along the way. It was his family and friends that he cherished the most. Jim drank life from a fire hose and we believe no one had more fun than he did. We will miss his sage advice and his incredible zest for life. "Evinrude me Mr. Motorman, Evinrude me" and save us a spot at the dock!
Jim was a Korean War Veteran. The family requests that in honor of Jim we all thank a veteran and be kind to one another. GO BILLS! Services are private.

I never met Mr. Ackerman, but my father Joe Giardina worked for him for many years. I heard all the plumbing stories over the years, Casey, Eric, and Ray were practically members of the family . My dad really liked him and respected him as well as all the Ackerman's a lot. RIP sir, and thanks for keeping my dad working to provide for his family. People like Mr. Ackerman help facilitate the American Dream. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in his family.
