Dear Lois,Diane,Joyce and Carol,
I am so sorry to hear about Jimmy. I remember so well all the fun times at the beach. Sadly, time passes all to quickly. At least we have the special memories of all that we did and shared. Deepest sympathy to all of you.

To all of the Duquin family:
Jim was an important person to me and so many of us who had the pleasure to know him and work with him at Ashland Chemical. Jim was always full of life, fun and an inspiration to us all. I will be forever greatful to Jim and cherish the laughs we had together and the numerous golf games we enjoyed. I too am sorry that he did not have a chance to enjoy his retirement to the fullest. He certainly deserved this. However, he left a powerful impact on an incredible number of people, including myself, and for that, we will all be better for it.
All my best and love to Jim's family in this difficult time. I will certainly say a prayer for all of you, but also celebrate a very special person.
All my best,
Jeff Anderson

To the Duquin Family
I first met Jim when I joined Ashland in 1990 and always found Jim to be interested and approachable whenever I had reason to talk to him. He was a great friend to many and was responsible for the growth of many careers at Ashland, mine included. The strength of his personallity and the wisdom of his leadership were great examples for us all. My prayers are with you all in this time of mourning, and celebration of a life lived to the fullest.

Through Jim, my company (ACT,Inc.) was bought by Ashland. He also was key in forming my new company, which needed Ashland's support to get off the ground. Jim was one of the most comfortable people with whom I have had the pleasure to work. He was unpretentious and down to earth, plus an overall intelligent guy who dis-armed you with his demeanor. He richly deserved a long and happy retirement, and I will think of him often.

I worked for & with Jim for 15 years within the Ashland family, which is exactly the description I use in my association with Duke.I regret that he was not allowed to enjoy the many years of retirement that he deserved. My life was enriched knowing Jim. My wife Helen, & I extend heartfelt condolence. "Duke" will always be tall in the saddle.

I am sorry I will miss the Buffalo service but send my love and thoughts to all my family who will be there.
Connie, you did a great job caring for Jim and never feel that you didn't do enough. We all loved hearing your updates, and you were great with the medical terminology and staying on top of everything. You gave the best care possible and we knew he got all the help he could thanks to your efforts.
To my girl Duquin cousins, I know it must be so sad to lose a younger sibling. I had only 6 cousins in all, so each of you matter. He was only 2 months younger that I was, so I feel especially sad.
Just know, all of you, that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know he is in a better place and suffers no more. That thought will give me peace and comfort.
Sincerely,
Barbara (Hanley) Andrulis and family

I am so sad to hear of Jimmy's passing. It had been many years since we last saw each other and I enjoyed catching up at our SJCI reunion last year. I looked so forward to playing golf with Jim but sadly we got rained out. I have very fond memories of Jim that I will cherish forever and my thoughts and prayers are for his soul and for his family and friends.

My Prayers are with Jim's family. I feel that I missed a great deal by not staying in touch with Jim after our years at St. Joe's. Wonderful memories of S.J football and parties in the 60's.

Thinking of you Connie in this sad time in your life. You and Jim had more fun than anyone I know. You were lucky to have each other for 20 years. Let me know if I can do anything.

Dear Duquin Family;
I am deeply saddened to learn of Jimmy's passing. As I think of him, I have several memories of him from when I was just a kid and being up at Willow Bay. I remember how cool I thought he was. I remember him helping me learn to water ski and one really nice memory is that he took me for my first ride on a motorcycle. As we cruised along the Long Beach Road out towards Low Banks going what I thought was about 80 but probably was only about 45 I still can remember hanging on and how much fun that was. The neat part is that it is to this day my one and only ride on a motorcycle. So thank you Jimmy for the experience and the memory. May God welcome Jim with open arms and bless all of you with his comfort at this difficult time.
Sincerly

My thoughts and prayers go out to all Jim’s friends and family. I had the honor and pleasure of working with him at Ashland.
Some of my fondest memories were of playing golf with Jim. My lack of golfing skill provided him with much laughter during each and every round, especially one round at Saddlebrook. Jim said, during that round: “It’s nice to know you have not been taking time off from work to play golf…”
Jim will be truly missed. God bless.
