Beloved husband of the late Shirley A. (nee Lewis) Basile; devoted father of John (Cathryn) Basile, Jr., Shirley (David) Zimpfer and AnnMarie Basile; loving grandfather of David Honsberger, Joseph (Lauren) Honsberger, Anthony Basile, Justin Zimpfer, Evan Basile-Calhoon, Christian Basile-Calhoon, and the late Victoria Basile; cherished great-grandfather of Kylie Mae, Peyton Elizabeth and Griffin Joseph Honsberger; dear brother of the late Vito Basile and Angeline Larkin, and Peter Basile, Jr. John obtained his Ph.D. in Education and worked for 34 years for the public school system. He served as President and Vice President for numerous boards of directors and was very active in his community. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorials may be made in John's name to Hospice-Buffalo, Inc., 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, New York 14227. Arrangements by AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., (716) 836-6500. John was a wonderful man & good friend to my father, Phil. They spent many hours on dad´s porch watching the world go by & sharing childhood memories. Good friends are a blessing & he was a blessing to my dad.
