Congressman LaFalce was a member of the Congressional Study Group on Germany to which I served as a consultant and rapporteur of its annual meetings with its counterparts in Germany's Parliament, the Bundestag. In 2000, the Congressman hosted the annual meeting in Buffalo and my wife and two daughters, ages 11 and 9, accompanied us. The Congressman made us feel very welcome and to this day our daughters have vivid, positive memories of their experience at that gathering. We are ever grateful for the Congressman's service to our country and the kindness he provided our family. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, John Parisi

I was very fortunate to get to meet Mr. And Mrs. LaFalce when I started coaching his son Marty at Canisius High School. For 3 years, young Marty was an outstanding player and one the most respectful and coachable Crusaders. we made annual trips to Florida with our CHS team. Many parents met us in Tampa, to spend almost two weeks watching our young men practice and play games. John and Pat were consummate and wonderful parents who were always there cheering on Marty and the team. What a wonderful family. Later in life, long after our Canisius days, my wife Chris and I were privileged to be invited by John to travel with them on one of his famous Italian vacations. This on to Chinque Terre region. John was a great leader and a great personality with everyone he came in contact with. John had the unique ability to remember everyone and to always make you feel that he was glad to see you, especially with that beautiful smile. It was our honor to get to know John, Pat, and Marty, so well. May God bless his memory. Bob Carnevale

So sorry Pat and Martin for this news. I never personally met John but felt closer to him because of you Pat and Jane and Tim. I know he was a wonderful man, loved his facebook message and I always commented on them. He was a gem of a Congressman that's for sure and I know a terrific husband and father. I lost my husband a year ago and it not easy but they are in a better place with the Lord and now Pope Francis. My sincere condolences. Pat hope to see you at our next Mercy luncheon.

Pat and Martin,
We send our condolences on John's passing, Many great memories - through the political campaigns, the great service to the nation, our daughter in his office for a bit, serving on the Merit Selection panel for Magistrate judges, his caring for people and his great commitment to his family - how about that license plate! He was a gentleman who labored in public service for all the right reasons. We are out of town or we would be with you personally but our thoughts afre with you.
