I MOVED TO ARIZONA EARLY IN 2005 AND SAW YOUR DAD IN MAY OF 2005 FOR MY LAST DENTAL VISIT IN NEW YORK. HE LOOKED GOOD LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT AND WAS FEELING GREAT. I am terribly sorry to hear about your loss, and grieve also as Joe was a special person to everyone who knew him.
This may not be the most appropriate time to express this, but I know of no other way to get this message to you. I know the road ahead for the family members will not be a pleasant one under the circumstances, and in the end, I truly hope justice is served for all. I too met Joe when I was 17, and have kept in touch off and on for 32 years. In fact, my sister-in-law spoke to Joe a fews years back when he was looking to partner in the dental business as he began to think of retirement, and she was a fledgling out of dental school. Things didn't work out, but it was another example how our lives touched periodically. Joe was one of the kindest souls I ever met, and his influence is a significant part of who I am now. Thats why I'd like to offer that if you ever need a witness to attest to his kind, unthreatening demeanor, I would be happy to help if I can.

My husband, Adam, was a patient of Dr. Matteliano....and we were shocked to hear of his untimely death. He was a wonderful man, and our hearts go out to his entire family. He will be missed by many many people. I'm sure he was accompanied by many angels as he went to his heavenly home.

Dr. Matteliano was a wonderful person and a compassionate Doctor. It was always a pleasure to go to my cleanings. I will miss seeing his smiling face every six months.

I did not know Dr. Matteliano for a long time, but for the short time that I knew him I was very impressed by the awesome dentist he was but more importantly by the warm, kind and patient person that I was so lucky to know. It was truly an honor having known him. All of my best to all of his family, he was so proud of you and spoke so highly of his family at every visit. This is a terrrible loss and he will be remembered fondly.

Its me again, I just laid down to go to bed and I realized I forgot to express how much you meant to my husband and my two boys. Craig always said, after you empressed him some how, man your uncle is smart. He made us laugh the other night about the car stereo you put in his car and how he crossed some wires and almost blew it out. He loved being your assistant for mom. When craig explained to Hudson you were in heaven, Hudson asked now who is going to be are dentist- grandpa likes to tell that story it makes him cry. Hudson will remermber you and we will make sure that Ashton will too.

Dearest Uncle Joe,
You will and always will be the soft gentle voice that brightened every ones day. From slumber parties on the boat, to the calming affect your sand glass at the office had on me since I was small, to christmas tree cutting traditions, you helped create memories that I will cherish forever. I will ask you to be with all of us always-especially Grandpa, Grandma Carm,Mom (shar because thats what you always called her) Auntie Di, Jodie, Andrea and all of your unique and very special grandchildren- they are all so wonderful you should be very proud. You were a brother to my dad and I thank you. I don't even have to explain the bond that you and Marc had. Dr. Joe was a great dentist. He made my daughter feel special when she was at the office. He always had a smile on his face and wanted make you laugh by sharing a silly joke or story. Oh, of course this was while he was working on your teeth. I was sad to learn of his terrible news.
