WAGNER - Joseph J. March 5, 1921 - June 28, 2012, Joseph J. Wagner, age 91, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Buffalo, NY, died on June 28, 2012. Services will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, July 6th, at Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota, FL. Funeral arrangements by PACKER FUNERAL HOME. Interment will be at the Sarasota National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Delores; brother, Bill of Buffalo, NY; three children, Judy Wagner of Buffalo, NY, Marilyn Bateman and her husband, Bryson of Goldsboro, NC, Joe Wagner Jr. and his wife, Mary-Beth of St. Petersburg, FL; son-in-law, Dave Clark of Sarasota; and seven grandchildren, Cari, Jennifer, Lindsey, Jackie, Michael, Sarah, and Claire. He was predeceased by daughter, Laura Jean Clark and two brothers. He was a cheerful man who easily made friends and will be dearly missed by all.

I am so saddened to lose another of my dear uncles. Luckily, Uncle Joe loved to communicate by email, and we had quite a few chats over the last few years. I'm so sorry for Aunt Delores and all my cousins - you went through so much with losing Jeannie recently.

The Family of Papa Joe, Barna and I were very sad to learn last Thursday that our only daughter in law, Jennifer Bateman Wilder had lost her maternal grandfather. We know Papa Joe will be missed by his dear family and many friends. We have heard Jennifer speak of her grandfather often and how active her grandparents were and how they enjoyed the activities in their retirement community. We pray that our Heavenly Father will provide each of you the spiritual, physical and emotional strength that you need as you mourn our loss.

Words can not express how much Grandpa will be missed! I am so blessed to have had such a beautiful relationship with him! He has watched me grow and I am beyond thankful for that! He always had a hug, kiss, smile, and a story! Life will not be the same but I will remember to be humble and thank the Lord each day because of Grandpa. I know he is in Heaven now with my Mom and my heart is so warm and comforted knowing that!
