I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Eckman's passing. My condolences to all of the family. He was always a guy I enjoyed seeing and talking to, from the time I was a t-baller to just last summer when I saw him at the ball field watching his grand daughter play. Peace and comfort to all of you.

I was first introduced to Leo as an opposing coach in Blasdell Little League Baseball and have crossed paths with him in some way ever since (all good). I mowed his lawns and received little pearls of advice along the way on everything from stocks to the ponies; the latter of which is still running. Leo was the genuine article. He'll be missed.

Dear Donna and Family,

Tomorrow, Memorial Day, is the day I always called Leo to thank him for his service in Vietnam as a Marine. Today's ceremony at the town park featured three Vietnam veterans. I cried through a lot of it thinking about Leo. Leo was a great neighbor, yard keeper, chess player and simply a great friend to me, and also, Trish's buddy. I hope he was able to ride to the Pearly Gates in the Winnebago we always dreamed about. I still think of him every time I look at the model one he gave me for my birthday. God be with you all.

Love,
Don and Trish Schmitt

So sad to hear the news. My heart goes out to Donna and your family. So many good memories. When you came to visit me in the hospital last year, that was such a great day for me. I'll never forget it. Enjoyed working, keeping the sitcom going. Very smart, funny, generous man. I'm so grateful for everything you've done for me. Truly missed, but never forgotten.
