They don’t come any better than Linda . She was a wonderful friend a wonderful nurse. The first person I met at Sister‘s hospital in 1975 we used to share rides back-and-forth to work. We shared going to each other’s children’s weddings and she’s always been a wonderful friend of mine. Heaven has certainly a wonderful angel up in in heaven my deepest sympathies go out to Hank Michelle, Laura Amy your mother has left a wonderful legacy and she will never be forgotten. You are in my prayers and with you always God bless.

Linda was an amazing person. She was one of nurses that helped precept me to the GI unit. She was always a shining light and always had such positive attitude. I always told her that she was my work mom and she treated me like I was one of her daughters. She was a phenomenal woman! She will be greatly missed. Sending my deepest sympathy to her family.

I went to school with Linda for 12 years from Peter & Paul to graduating with her at Nardin. I fondly remember all the fun and memories we had at their house on Lord St and their house in West Seneca taking the Clinton St bus to and from school. She always had a smile on her face and a heart gold. Our condolences to Hank and your family .

Linda was one of the first nurse in Endoscopy at Sisters Hospital who precepted me. Her expert guidance was both essential and encouraging. She would often she say "You've got this girl" in a nurturing tone. On a personal note, we enjoyed many conversations about our families, and how she loved spending time with her family. I send my condolences to her grieving family and pray you know that Linda will be missed by others as well.

I had the pleasure of working with Linda at the Center for Ambulatory Surgery GI department. Always enjoyed the days I worked with her. She never had a complaint and her compassion and kindness were always there for the patients and other staff members. I've been chatting with her since her knee replacement and we've been encouraging each other with our physical therapy. It was a true joy to be around her and she made work fun no matter how busy. Rest in peace my dear friend. Thank you for all the joy you brought to others. God has a special place for you as he cradles you in his arms.

I had the honor of working with Linda at the Center for Ambulatory Surgery, for the past five years. She was a wonderful nurse, so kind and compassionate to everyone she encountered. We enjoyed talking about nursing and the changes we have seen. Her smile brightened the room, even on the most hectic days. I ran into her at Wegman’s (not too long after her retirement party in September of ‘24). She was still overwhelmed and raving about that party in her honor. She was very gracious, but openly touched. “A well deserved honor, my friend.” She was picking up a cake for her granddaughter- she was always talking about the “grands”, her family and all the happy times they shared. She truly loved all of you and knew how blessed she was to be yours. As you grieve for your loss, know that her faith filled life raised her to her Eternal Place in heaven and she is wrapped in the arms and peace of Jesus. Godspeed, Linda. You will be forever missed.

Heaven has just gained a Very Special Angel. Linda and I worked together in the G I department of the Center for Ambulatory Surgery. I started several months before her and we both had our retirement party together in September 2024. We had many talks about the changes we’ve seen in Nursing, Polish traditions, foods, our families and anything else that we had on our mind. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, smile and kind words to her patients, co-workers, and visitors. I will always remember her as the Best Placek baker and how much I looked forward to Easter time when she would bring some in to work. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Hank and family. Linda will always be with you in your memories, thoughts and heart.

I just can not believe this! I worked with Linda at the ambulatory center Linda was the light of my day. She was always so kind and the most loving and caring woman. Linda was so good to me during my kidney transplant that she will forever hold a special place in my heart. Whenever she would see me she would always tell me you’re going to be ok kid. Kinda and I would laugh as we would talk about how Hank would close the blinds as soon as she opened them lol or even just laugh about if she will win at bingo tonight. May god bless Linda and her family.

I am so so saddened to hear the passing of Linda. I worked with her for the last 8 years at center for ambulatory surgery. She was just a kind person And she always listened to me. She gave me so much advice and listened to me complaining about motherhood but always told me "This is the good stuff". I appreciated her wisdom and it meant so much to me. Nothing seemed to stress her out she was always positive and just happy to be Living. She talked fondly about her grandchildren - they meant the world to her. This women knew everything about me in our years working together and I really cherished our friendship. She always had a smile and was always sharing a laugh with people around her. I just went to her 2nd retirement party in September - she was sad to leave but knew it was time. I will always remember her and will remember all the things I learned from her. May she rest in peace. I am sad I will not be able to attend her wake or funeral. I will be praying and thinking of all who loved her. May she rest in Peace.

Linda was a Beautiful person. She always had a kind word and a smile on her face. She was a caring person who was always there to listen and a pleasure to work with. I will never forget when my Mom passed away and I looked up and saw Linda coming out of the church after attending my Mom’s funeral mass. I didn’t even know she was there. That moment only redefined was a Special person she was. Love you Linda. I know in my heart that you are receiving the rewards of Heaven. May you Rest In Peace my Friend ❤

I was so truly saddened to hear of Linda’s passing. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to all of Linda’s family. She was a wonderful friend, neighbor, and compassionate nurse. I have many memories of parties in the neighborhood with Linda and Hank, Michelle, Amy and Laura. I know how much she loved her family and enjoyed the grandchildren. They meant everything to her. Every year I would get a Christmas card with a picture of all of them. When talking about her children and grandchildren she always lit up with a big smile on her face. I am sure she is in heaven watching over all of you. I am in Florida so will not be able to attend the funeral but my thoughts will be with you all. I am so sorry for your loss.

I’m so very saddened to hear this news. I grew up across the street from “Mrs. Linda” and she (and “Mr. Hank”) always made me laugh when I was growing up and was always welcoming to us in her home, even letting the 4 of us stay a few days while my parents looked for our new home in Albany. My very deep and sincere condolences to Amy, Laura, Michele, “Mr. Hank,” and family.

For forty years it was a privilege to be a friend & colleague of linda Penkalski. During our time at Sisters Hospital I witnessed daily her kindness, empathy & her dedication to her profession as a Registered Nurse. Our friendship continued after our retirement. She taught me how to play electronic bingo & also the art of making pastry hearts, all done with laughter & joy!
I will cherish her memory always.
My condolences & sympathy to Hank & the Penkalski family

Mom -- I am so grateful for the life you lived and the love you gave so freely. You raised an incredible daughter who carries forward your kindness, strength, and selflessness every day. You were the most generous and loving grandmother to our children, and the joy they felt in your presence was immeasurable. You taught me so much about focusing on what truly matters—family, love, and the simple, meaningful moments we share. I will always cherish the way you embraced every memory, how you were the biggest fan of the photo books and videos I made. I tried to amplify the love you poured into this family. Your warmth, your laughter, and your unwavering kindness will live on in all of us. Thank you for everything. With love forever ... Pat
