August 20, 2023, of Orchard Park, NY, age 54. Beloved husband of Mary C. (nee Cosgrove) Moran. Devoted father of Angelina and Caitlin Moran. Loving son of William J., M.D. and the late Mary Elizabeth Moran and son-in-law of Edward C. and Dorothea A. Cosgrove. Dear brother of Bill (Ann) Moran, Megan (David) Fitzpatrick, Brion, M.D. (Rebecca) Moran and Moira (Mike) Veech and brother-in-law of Ed, M.D. (Lori) Cosgrove, Jim (Alisa) Cosgrove and Mike (Marilee) Cosgrove. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family will be present on Sunday, August 27th from 2-5 PM at the (Orchard Park Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 6170 W. Quaker St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 28th in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 26 Thorn Ave., Orchard Park at 10:00 AM. Please assemble at church. I met Matt originally at Fidelity Investments back in the early 90´s and continued to work with him in the industry seeing him occasionally at industry conferences. He was one of the most positive people that I have ever known and was a true friend to all that met him. My condolences to his family as he will be missed for certain. Rest in peace my friend

Hi Mary, Angelina and Caitlin - I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Matt professionally and most of our conversations were about his love of his family and how you'd play tennis on the driveway during covid or how his girls were growing up. You there light of his life! He was a rarity in our industry, a man of character, nobility and courage. His loss stings because he brought life and value into this world. It was a blessing to know him.

This is devastating news, and I am heartbroken. Matt´s daughters and my daughter go to school together at Nativity of our Lord school. I first met Matt over six years ago at a birthday party for my daughter. Matt and I would talk about his cancer whenever we met at school or social events, and I was optimistic he´d beat this. I am devastated that that didn´t happen. My prayers and thoughts to his family.

I brought the Eucharist to Matt several weeks ago at Mercy Hospital .He was very devout and I was able to give him a Rosary since his had broken.Although I was meeting him for the first time, he made quite an impression. My condolences to Mary and the family. Please know you are all in my prayers.
