Buffalo State owes a great many excellent teachers practicing today to the guidance and mentorship of this grand lady and outstanding teacher. We are sad to hear of her passing, but know full well that the sum of her life's work will live on for many, many years to come.

Mil was a wonderful mentor to me and one of the most creative teachers I ever knew. She was a life long learner....taking up kayaking while her peers were in their rocking chairs!

To Ellen, other friends, family and colleagues, deep sympathy and gratitude for your support of Mildred--"Miss Fischle," as she will always remain in memory. She was my dear kindergarten and second grade teacher. It would be impossible to count the lives she touched and enriched, foolhardy to try to calculate her impact on this community. May she enjoy the reward of her goodness.

Mildred was a beloved organist and choir director at St. Lukes E&R Church many years ago. I have fond memories as a teenager. Rest in peace, Mildred.
