Melanie,Maddy,Hannah,Julia,
My heart aches for you.Your papa was a wonderful person. He was a gift to us all, as you were to him.I had the honor of knowing him 4 years and not a day went by that he did not boast about all of you. How proud he was of "his girls", and when he spoke of you his eyes would light up and the most beautiful and genuine smile would spread across his face.
Neil changed the world and everyone he met for the better. What a speacial gift to be able to do that.
What a beautiful legacy to leave behind..
Pure unconditional love and friendship.
The world is a sweeter place because of Neil Maxick.
I will miss him always and remember him forever.

Dear Auntie Vicki, Stacey, Joni and Mitchell,

I have to concur with Dana...NOBODY gave better hugs than Uncle Neil. To me, getting hugged by Neil was highly symbolic and meaningful because, in one simple gesture, they expressed so much about the man:

1. How genuinely happy he was to see you
2. How genuinely interested he was in what was going on in your life
3. How genuinely generous he was as a person

I miss him, yes, but I also miss all of you and think about you all more than you know (makes me want to be a kid again, piling into the stationwagon and shuffling off to Buffalo).

I think that I speak for Dana when I say that visting the Maxicks remains a very special memory that does not diminish with time nor distance (kind of like the feelings that we all have for Uncle Neil).

Our feelings for Neil are constants that remain very much intact and are a tribute to the spirit of a man who left such a positive, warm impression upon the lives of not only the Maxicks and Ross', but the Brookers and Skys and countless other families who share in your loss.

I am very proud to have had such a terrific guy as part of my life and, no doubt, all of the respondents here feel the same way.

Take care of each other and I'll be in touch.

Love always
Shane

Vicki, Joni, Stacey and Mitchell,

Words can't explain the feeling of loss I know you all must be feeling. Neil was a good friend and at times like a father to me always willing to affer advice or a shoulder when needed. Always remember he is in your hearts and always watching over you still to protect you and keep all of you safe. Neil will be missed very much, just remember avery time you feel a con=mforting breeze or see a beautiful rainbow, you know it will be him letting you know he is there.

Vicki and Family,

I'm not quite sure where to start. Neil was a wonderful man. Always there to lend a helping hand. He always gave his advise if you asked him (and sometimes even if you didn"t !!) It breaks my heart that he is no longer here. After seeing him every day at the salon for the past four years is going to be tough. I know that all the girls will miss him dearly. There were mornings I'd bring doughnuts and we would sit and talk - or days he just wanted to read his morning paper and I would sit there and interupt him by talking to him about American Idol.
He and Vicki have been part of our family for the past 7 years. They enjoyed our wedding with us, the birth of our baby girl and her Christening and 1st Birthday. They even watch Tyler grow up. Even when things got bad, Neil found it in his heart to forgive me and give me a second chance. All though he still owes me a few kicks in the butt. He and Vicki were a really good team and could survive anything together. Words cannot discribe the kind of man Neil Maxick was and he will be greatly missed. He will be in my heart forever. My deepest sympathies to Vicki and the family.

Today I lost a treasured boyhood friend. Neil was always their since our first days of High School. The memories of Crystal Beach, his Wednesday night trips to Toronto and other untold stories, are precious to me. While we lived our lives at great distances and did not see each other frequently, we never forget the closeness of our youth. No brother could be more sorely missed.

Take comfort in the rest of your family and friends and know that their thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care and don't hesitate to let me know if I can help in any way.
