80, of Grand Island, died on October 12, 2023, in Amherst. Bob was born in Lackawanna in 1943 to John A. Starzynski and Adolpha H. Polus. Bob attended Kenmore West High School before graduating with an undergraduate degree in business from SUNY Buffalo. He went on to work in insurance, management consulting, and investment, before going into commercial real estate. He worked at the Buffalo CBRE office for over 20 years. Bob was also a member of the Army Reserves. In his later adult years, he earned a master of arts degree in American studies from SUNY Buffalo. He was also a longtime member of the Grand Island Planning Board. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul (Beth) Starzynski. He is survived by his wife, Susan (nee Johnstone); his children, Krista (Mike) Mettler and Robert (Erin) Starzynski Jr.; his grandchildren, Robert Starzynski III and Thomas Starzynski; as well as a niece and nephews. Visitation hours will be Friday, October 27 from 4-6 p.m. at Kaiser Funeral Home 1950 Whitehaven Rd. Grand Island, and a memorial service will take place at the chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28.
