HAENDIGES - Sylvia T. (nee Tonaus)

Age 83, of the City of Tonawanda, Friday, November 24, 2017, beloved mother of Michael (Hon. Deborah) Haendiges, Theresa Haendiges, Craig Haendiges, and Julie (Mark) Tuskes; grandmother of Jennifer Haendiges, Natalie (Shane) Strawn, Nicholas Feeterman, Zachary (fiancee Whitney) Tuskes and Megan Tuskes; great-grandmother of Vincent Haggerty, Fiona Haggerty and Lucy Strawn; daughter of the late Michael and Isama (Solomon) Tonaus; sister of the late Joseph (late Alice), Marion (late Alex), Donald and George (late Marilyn); also survived by many nieces, nephews and a lifelong childhood friend, Barbara Smith. Sylvia had been a Choir Director for many years at St. George Orothodox Catholic Church and was a former Director of the Greater Buffalo Counseling Center. She was also a beloved member of the Syrian Lebanese Club of the Tonawandas. Family will be present on Monday from 2-4 and 6:30-8:30 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) City of Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28, at 10 AM at St. George Orothodox Catholic Church, 2 Nottingham Terrace, Buffalo, NY. Friends invited. Please assemble at church. Memorials may be made to the Greater Buffalo Counseling Center, 330 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14215.
