Tom Lowes was my father's (deceased, James Lowes: jim-n-maggie.com) youngest brother. He was a very talented artist/photographer/art director and an inspiration for me when I was young. I always aspired to have a career like he had, to travel, see the world and make a living being creative. I don't know what career path I would have followed, had I not known Tom. He had a great smile, great looks and lots of charisma...fun to hang with...he was our "cool" uncle. I will never forget the "nieces and nephews" parties he had for 3 consecutive years (1969-71?) at his Ellicottville, New York winter ski home. If you were not old enough to drink...you were not invited. Needless to say...lots of fun...drinking, eating, singing campfire songs, posing for group photos, and just laughing it up. Fond memories...we loved Uncle Tom. Thanks for inspiring me Uncle Tom...I, too, have had a great career as an advertising art director (mikelowes.com). I've traveled the world, worked with famous people and nourished my creative bones...and I only have your example to thank for that. Thanks Tom and my condolences to your family.
