I have fond memories of Tom during our tenure in UB Med School. He was far and away the funniest and cheery-ist fellow among our gang. I could always count on his over-sized smile and contagious laugh at our lunch table when I was my somber Monday-blues kind of self with the stresses of learning anatomy and biochemistry. I've often thought of his special optimism whenever I've faced the usual parade of stresses as I've gotten older. Tom will always be a gem for me.

Many years ago, as an attorney I had the privilege of representing Tom in matters relating to his medical practice. An outstanding and caring physician (I was told by numerous other doctor clients) and an even more outstanding human being (I quickly learned for myself), he was a very special client and friend. I especially remember his tales of horror upon learning of the Holocaust and how when famed Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal spoke in Buffalo, Tom not only attended but was able to introduce himself to the speaker and shake the man's hand.

Thom, You left this world too soon and will be missed! God Speed and God Bless.
